Writing Your Story of Transformation

Mirabai Starr
Tuition: $325

Have you experienced a profound transformation that changed everything? Do you long to share your story, but don’t know how to begin to articulate something so holy and mysterious, so beautiful and sometimes terrible? You are not alone.  Whether we experience the death of a loved one, a serious health diagnosis, an abrupt shift in our career, community, or way of life, radical change can shatter our foundation and open us to vast new inner landscapes.

Using writing techniques shared in her latest book, Caravan of No Despair: A Memoir of Loss and Transformation, Mirabai Starr helps us access our authentic voice and find the freedom to speak our deepest truths. Through guided writing exercises, deep dialog, simple yoga asanas and meditation, and supported by the contemplative atmosphere of the ashram, come fearlessly share your story — one that deserves to be told.

Mirabai Starr is a critically acclaimed author and translator of sacred literature, who teaches and speaks widely on contemplative practice, inter-spiritual experience, and the transformational power of loss. A leader in the emerging inter-spiritual movement, her works include Saint Teresa of Avila: The Passionate Mystic; Saint John of the Cross: Devotions, Prayers, and Living Wisdom; The Showings of Julian of Norwich; and Mother of God Similar to Fire (in collaboration with iconographer William Hart McNichols). Her book God of Love: A Guide to the Heart of Judaism, Christianity and Islam won the New Mexico/Arizona Book Award.
